Leading the Formulation & Implementation of National Standard | Ever‑Hengxin Drives High‑quality Development of the Bioinspired Dry‑adhesion Industry through St
2026-09-01

Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) have officially released the national standard GB/T 47233‑2026, Test Method for Adhesion Performance of Bioinspired Dry‑adhesive Materials. This standard shall come into force on September 1, 2026. Led and compiled by our company’s core technical team, the standard’s principal drafters include Ji Keju, Dai Zhendong, Qin Xiugong, Song Yi, Tian Yu, Hong Yiqiang, Xia Shuang, Zou Huawei, Xue Longjian, Peng Zhilong, Tian Hongmiao, Guo Hui, Wang Xipeng, Wu Jianming, Huang Shilong, Jiang Jiang, Yao Julü, Deng Kai, Sun Yichen and Zhao Zhao. The compilation work was completed jointly with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Xiamen University, Jilin University, Xi’an Jiaotong University and other universities, research institutes and industrial‑chain‑related entities. It fills the gap in China’s unified performance‑evaluation system for bioinspired dry‑adhesive materials and lays a solid technical foundation for the standardized and industrial‑scale development of the industry.

Bioinspired dry‑adhesive materials draw on the bionic principle of micro‑nano structures on gecko feet, boasting broad application prospects in aerospace, optoelectronic semiconductors, industrial automation, robotics, medical care and other sectors. In the early stage of industrial development, unified test specifications tailored to the special adhesion mechanism of such materials had long been absent at home and abroad. Inconsistent testing protocols and evaluation benchmarks across different institutions hindered product R&D iteration, cross‑industry large‑scale deployment and commercialization of research achievements.

Starting in January 2024, drawing on years of engineering practice, the company’s technical team launched the drafting of the standard. It took the lead in core tasks including framework construction, multi‑dimensional experimental verification and text revision and optimization. Over the two‑year period, the team held in‑depth discussions with more than 20 industry‑wide experts nationwide to refine technical details of the standard. After multiple rounds of public comment solicitation, experimental validation and expert review, the full process for national standard approval and official release was finally completed.

GB/T 47233‑2026 systematically standardizes the complete set of test procedures for normal‑direction adhesion strength, shear‑direction adhesion strength, and 90°/180° peel strength of bioinspired dry‑adhesive materials. It specifies unified testing conditions, specimen requirements, data calculation rules and reporting specifications. The whole technical solution originates from a series of national‑level research projects undertaken by the team, including space‑borne bionic capture, weightlessness protection, wafer micro‑transfer printing and material ageing evaluation under extreme environments. Validated under extreme working conditions such as vacuum, microgravity, high and low temperature, and vibration, the standard features both scientific rigor and engineering practicability, and provides the whole industry with a unified, reproducible basis for material performance evaluation.

At present, no equivalent dedicated international standard exists. The implementation of this national standard delivers a standardized “Chinese Solution” for China’s bio‑inspired surface and interface material field, helps the industry enhance its international technical discourse power, and drives the industry’s coordinated upgrading from laboratory‑scale R&D to standardized and large‑scale industrialization.

As an innovative enterprise deeply engaged in the R&D and industrialization of gecko‑inspired materials in China, the company has built a comprehensive R&D and testing system relying on the Nanjing Edhengxin Bionic Materials Research & Development Center. Standardized mass‑production clean‑room factories covering over 5,000 square meters have been established in Shaoxing and Xuzhou, forming a complete industrial chain spanning R&D, pilot testing and mass manufacturing, and boosting local employment.

The team’s self‑developed product portfolio, including bionic adhesive pads, friction pads, gecko‑inspired adhesive tapes, bionic adhesion shoes and physical suction cups, has been deployed onboard the Mengtian Experimental Module and the Shenzhou‑15 to Shenzhou‑17 manned space missions, and will continue to support on‑orbit weightlessness exercise equipment for astronauts on the Shenzhou‑20 and subsequent missions. Meanwhile, the products are supplied in batches to leading domestic enterprises in the optoelectronic, semiconductor and automation equipment industries, solving interfacial force control challenges in scenarios such as wafer transmission, panel lamination and vacuum coating. The relevant achievements have won the First Prize of the 2025 Shanghai Technical Invention Award, fully demonstrating the team’s engineering implementation capability and adaptability to major high‑end equipment.

Beyond leading the development of the national standard, our company has established a comprehensive intellectual property system covering material structures, preparation processes and application scenarios. Meanwhile, we have adopted the ISO 9001 quality management system, realizing full‑process standardized management and control from material R&D and performance testing to mass production and delivery. The release of this national standard is an authoritative recognition of the company’s technical accumulation, engineering practice and scientific research innovation capabilities by the industry, as well as an important milestone for the enterprise in practicing industry‑university‑research collaborative innovation and empowering industrial chain upgrading.

Going forward, the technical team at Edhengxin will continue to delve deep into gecko-inspired surface and interface technologies. Leveraging the national standard system, the team will drive continuous technological iteration and advance in-depth interdisciplinary innovation in partnership with domestic universities, research institutions, and industrial upstream and downstream enterprises. The company will further expand diversified application scenarios across aerospace, national defense equipment, semiconductors, civilian consumption and other fields. Empowering the R&D and manufacturing of major national core equipment with standardized technological foundations, Edhengxin will facilitate the stable, high-quality development of the bioinspired dry-adhesion industry.
