July 10–11, 2025: The Pre-review Meeting for Five National Bionic Standards (2025) was successfully held in Lishui District, Nanjing. The event was sponsored by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Bionics (SAC/TC598), and jointly undertaken by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) and Nanjing Adhesion Technology Co., Ltd.
More than 30 experts, scholars and representatives from Jilin University, Xiamen University, Beihang University and other institutions attended the conference.
At the meeting, Mr. Qin Xiugong, Secretary-General of the Standardization Technical Committee, elaborated on the primary objectives of the conference: to organize authoritative industry experts to conduct a comprehensive preliminary technical review on the draft standards for submission, examine item by item the conclusions recorded in the Summary and Processing Form for Comments Collected During Public Consultation, strictly guarantee standard quality, and ensure the smooth advancement and formal submission of the five national bionic standards.
In addition, the conference invited Professor Dai Zhendong from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Professor Zhang Zhihui from Jilin University to deliver speeches as invited expert representatives, offering authoritative technical guidance for the formulation of national bionic standards. As the representative of the co-organizer, Associate Professor Ji Keju, Founder of Nanjing Adhesion Technology, addressed the assembly and extended a warm welcome to all experts attending the event in Nanjing. Ms. Guo Hui, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Technical Committee, reported on the feedback collected during public consultation for the five national bionic standards, the follow-up schedule of the projects, and the review procedures of the preliminary meeting.
Subsequently, the drafting working group for the five national bionic standards presented reports on the content of each standard in sequence, covering:
1. Test Methods for Adhesive Properties of Bionic Dry Adhesive Materials
2. Test Methods for Surface Friction Coefficient of Bionic Structures
3. Bionic Liquid Gating Technology — Test Method for Transmembrane Pressure
4. Heterogeneous Bionic Structures — Methodology for Design, Fabrication and Optimization
5. Bionics — Bionic Manufacturing Based on Digital Twins: Concepts, Methods and Technical Framework
The preliminary review panel and invited expert panel carried out line-by-line technical scrutiny of each standard document and put forward targeted revision suggestions.

Over the two-day conference, adhering to the principles of scientific rationality, advancement, applicability and operability, participating experts conducted item-by-item examination and in-depth discussions on the framework, technical contents, index parameters, test methods and other elements of the five draft national standards. The experts put forward numerous constructive revisions and suggestions, laying a solid foundation for the further refinement of the draft standards and the subsequent formal review procedures.
The successful convening of this preliminary review meeting bears great significance for advancing the standardization of bionic technology in China, regulating the sound development of the industry and enhancing the overall competitiveness of the domestic bionic industry.

During the conference, participating experts paid a visit to the R&D Center and core product exhibition hall of Nanjing Adhesion Technology Co., Ltd. Mr. Ji Keju, Founder of the company, elaborated on the enterprise’s core technological innovations, latest research outcomes as well as practical product application cases in the field of gecko-inspired bionics.
